Future Manchester was set up by a group of people from a variety of community and campaign groups in Manchester who were concerned that many major search engines returned sites detailing corporate rather than grassroots solutions to local and global problems.
In order to increase the web visabity of Manchester's community and campaigning groups, we decided to focus our efforts on a single page. We are soley a portal to other websites, for other contact details or to access the many manchester groups without a website, please check out the excellent and exhaustive Networking Newsletter group listings page
The best way to give our portal a high rating in search engines is to link to it, especially with a link from your home page. We are currently working on an unobtrusive banner which can be placed at the bottom of local campaign sites.
